What Is GeoThermal?

Introduction to Geothermal Energy

Geothermal Systems work because of the earth’s year round consistency of the underground temperature.  The earth absorbs almost 50% of the sunís energy which maintains the ground at a fairly steady temperature.  A Geothermal system is an underground piping system that taps into this energy and transfers it to the surface.

Residential geothermal heating and cooling system. Geothermal heats and cools. During summer ground temperatures are lower than building temperatures and the heat pump extracts heat from the building and transfers it to the ground. In the winter the heat pump extracts heat from the ground and transfers it to the building.
